Hannah Montana Contest Winner Lied to Win

Hannah Montana is such a hit that people will do anything to get a ticket to see Miley Cyrus, aka Hannah Montana. A 6-year-old girl won four tickets to a Hannah Montana concert in New York with an essay that claimed her "daddy died this year in Iraq." This may sound heartbreaking, but that claim turned out to be a lie. Priscilla Ceballos, the mother of the young girl, had told the company sponsoring the contest that the girl’s father died April 17 in a roadside bombing in Iraq. When the spokesman asked the girl’s mom if the story was true, the mother said "no."
"We never said this was a true story," Ceballos told FOX 4 in Dallas. "We do essays all the time. My daughter does essays at school all the time. It never did say it had to be true, but [the contest organizer] said, ’That’s what we expected.’" However, there is an assumed expectation that the story must be true.
Club Libby Lu, the company behind the contest, has not yet made a decision as to whether the girl will get to keep the tickets. How about giving the tickets to someone who told the truth. Reward good behavior, not bad.

that is SICK. just. plain. sick.
first of all people are paying thousands of dollars to see this pathetic little popstar princess who by the way SUCKS scream her ugly little head off about pointless shallow topics.
and now people are making up awful stories to get their kids to see this 15yearoldloserwhohasntevenreachedpubertyyet.
how could they stoop so low? saying their father lost his life in iraq???? thats really a serious horrible thing thats happening every day. its nothing to kid about.
especially when its involving HANNAH MONTANA.
what has this world become?????
i wanna meet miley
It sad to read the comments and see how everyone is missing the point. It’s not about the rules of an essay or what kind of that was to be written. The mother lied about a father being killed in Iraq in the essay. How many little girls who would have loved to attend a Hannah Montana concert actually lost a father in Iraq? This is real life and death not some make believe situation.
I THINK IT IS STUPID HOW MUCH ATTENTION THIS IS GETTING! IT’S TURE THEY SHOULD WRITE OUT THE RULES BETTER NEXT TIME! LEAVE THE LADY ALONE!!!
I BELIEVE THAT THE MOTHER AND CHILD DID NOTHING WRONG. I THINK LIBBY LU IS ALL TO BLAME, IF YOU HAD ANY EDUCATION YOU WOULD KNOW THAT AN ESSAY DOESNT MEAN IT HAS TO BE TRU, DEFINE ESSAY? WHERE IN THE HELL DOES IT SAY IT HAS TO BE TRU..IT DOESNT!!! IF IT HAD TO BE TRU THEY SHOULD OF PUT ON THERE THAT IT NEEDED TO BE A TRU STORY. SO IM ON THE MOTHERS SIDE.
There are 8 different types of essays, some don’t have to be true, but it’s obvious that the mom and daughter were competing on a different playing field than the others. The Libby Liu company took the tickets away and awarded them to another entry, which I think was the right thing to do, since the first winnners’ mom would probably have just sold them on ebay anyway. Those are expensive little suckers.
yeah eveyone is right though..you shouldnt lie about anyine dien in your family if you hate them od not that is very wrong..
i think they should of just let it go cuz if you do read the rules they never say if it has to be true or not..so the little girl had a right .that was sneekey of hr to do that but still shes only 6 i didnt even know better at 6 so yeah let it go..next time make the rules better and yeah it wont happen..
what a disgrace!
i agree with Raquel.
if this child gets the tickets we are only promoting bad behavior.
not only that, but WHY ON EARTH would you even lie about something as terrible as that?!
sadly enough, i don’t think this little girl would come up with something like this without someone else’s help.
they shouldnt let the girl keep the tickets. shes only 6 years old. she needs to learn that lying is not the way to get what she wants. she should be punished by not having those tickets
Wow, 6 years old and does essays all the time. Is she a MENSA student????
WOW! sneaky!!! well, if Libby Lu never said it had to be a true story then I guess they do have the right to the tickets buttttttttttttttttttt they don’t deserve it.
