Norman just lost the British Open, a fitting knock in the head to this man who has destroyed his family, and along with her equally selfish behavior, his girlfriend's, for the sake of chasing that ever-elusive falsehood -- perpetual youth. What a travesty -- how excruciatingly painful for his and Evert's children to participate in the marriage of their parents to their "new" partners. And make no mistake about it -- both sets of children are devastated, regardless of their participation in the ceremony. The children are being used to make their wayward parents' affair somehow seem validated. As a child of divorce, I know how blisteringly painful it is to see a parent skip gleefully off with his/her "new love," leaving children in the dust and destruction of a former life.
