Gay Groups Get a Taste of Their Own Medicine with Proposition 8

Gay groups, like GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation), routinely threaten businesses, individuals, TV shows, movie studios, parents groups, schools, and every else who doesn’t promote the gay agenda, or doesn’t employee enough gays. Now Mormons, and heterosexual groups, are pushing back, and the gay groups are upset. Many heterosexual groups will be voting YES on California’s Proposition 8, which will amended the California constitution to ban gay marriage. Here’s more:
Leaders of the campaign to outlaw same-sex marriage in California are warning businesses that have given money to the state’s largest gay rights group they will be publicly identified as opponents of traditional unions unless they contribute to the gay marriage ban, too.
ProtectMarriage.com, the umbrella group behind a ballot initiative that would overturn the California Supreme Court decision that legalized gay marriage, sent a certified letter this week asking companies to withdraw their support of Equality California, a nonprofit organization that is helping lead the campaign against Proposition 8.
"Make a donation of a like amount to ProtectMarriage.com which will help us correct this error," reads the letter. "Were you to elect not to donate comparably, it would be a clear indication that you are in opposition to traditional marriage. … The names of any companies and organizations that choose not to donate in like manner to ProtectMarriage.com but have given to Equality California will be published."

Last year I warned that gay groups were being far too agressive in pursuing cultural changes, especially when they make up such a small minority of the population. I would have preferred to see gay groups work with heterosexual groups on a compromise, rather than trying push the gay agenda in ways that would cause heterosexual groups to push back, and now it’s happening. The backlash against gay groups could only get worse, so everyone needs to take a breath no matter what the outcome of Proposition 8, and see what can be done to work together on a compromise. Civil Unions was supposed to be a compromise, but gays have pushed to lump gay marriage in the same category as heterosexual marriage. If Proposition 8 passes, the discussion may be over, and gays may have to work to strengthen Civil Unions as an alternative.
A lot more can be accomplished when we all work together. If Proposition doesn’t pass, gays should work with heterosexual groups to draft a law that clearly defines the difference between gay and heterosexual marriage.

I don’t think it’s fair that homosexuals cannot get married like a heterosexual couple. I know life’s not fair, but they have the exact same rights as heterosexuals and they should be allowed to be married the same way. Religion shouldn’t have anything to do with whether or not gay marriage is right. I’m a 16 year old heterosexual female and I don’t think it’s right that homesexuals cannot be happy in the same way as heterosexuals. When I heard that same-sex couples were allowed to be married in California, I went to school and told everyone and most of my friends agreed with me that it was exciting and although they don’t agree with homosexuality, they do think that same sex couples should be allowed to participate in a marital union and not just some civil union. I don’t know everything, but I don’t think that gays should have to have a piece of legislation that defines the differences between a homosexual marriage and a heterosexual one. It’s just not right. They deserve to be happy, just like everyone else, and people who don’t have any reason to justify why it’s not right for homosexuals to be married except that ” the God or the Bible tells them it’s not right” are just dumb. Especially since I’m pretty sure that in the Bible, God says to accept everyone, no matter what they are. Homosexuals are just people, like you or me, they just love in a somewhat different way. They aren’t forcing you or anyone to do what they do, they just want to be happy with the same rights as anyone else.

You say “I don’t think it’s right that homesexuals cannot be happy in the same way as heterosexuals.”
hmmmm…. how ironic- that is EXACTLY what THEY say- they cannot be happy with a man w/ woman situation. They choose otherwise- they made their bed so why don’t they just lie in it and stop the whining…. booo hoooo

Well FYI there was a NO on prop 8 campaign today in the south bay area and it was a success! There were tons of people showed up to help put up signs in all 4 corners of the intersections and tons of people honked their cars to show their support.
And it is rude for a guy to flip the middle finger at us when we had elderly people to support us.. How rude!

As far as the gays threatening folks & businesses for money, heck, they stole, or borrowed rather, that scheme from another minority group. Jessie & brother Al been doing that old extortion job for many years. Ever notice that the “poverty pimps” never, ever, never show up for an issue, or an event that is not highly publicized ? How do you think these guys are all multi-millionaires. Personally, I don’t believe that who or what anyone marries, is anyone’s’ business, specially “Sam” (as in uncle, for the slow of mind) However, & on the same note, I have never liked that people shove their sexuality in my face & even worse, in our children’s face ! I think that it is a form of child endangerment &/or abuse. Why should any parent be forced to answer questions about other people who are so publicly obsessed with their sexuality that they have to constantly whine. Message to all the “gays” out there, leave the rest of us alone, we, friends & myself, don’t care one tiny bit about what you do behind closed doors, & are really offended that you shove down our throats, non-stop, & Our kids don’t care, you’re creep-in’ them out! Over heard: Mom, why are those guys on TV talk-in about having sex with other guys, are they going to try that with everybody (?) it made sad, it made me sick. Mom’s answer, gee son, they’d better not. How would you answer ? Mikeyj
