Fan Site to Britney Spears – I Dont Think We Can Be Friends Anymore

One of Britney Spears’ most popular fan sites is shutting down. WorldOfBritney.com, which has been faithfully monitoring Brit’s world, from the good to the K-Fed, since 2000, is closing down citing a loss of “credibility.”

The site’s webmaster and founder, Ruben Garay, posted a press release on the site Wednesday. He writes:

As Britney keeps losing her identity and credibility within fans and industry people, so is WoB. We’re moving on to greater, bigger things. I would therefore like to announce the permanent shut down of World of Britney.com beginning January 31st, 2007.

I think that WoB has had its run…….its feet are not holding firm anymore, not because of my ability to run it, but because I believe Britney is unfortunately done (for me at least). No matter what anyone thinks or how they may disagree, it’s very hard to maintain the respect needed to keep things going.

Today he added this addendum, assuring fans that the recent pics of Britney’s bare naked ladybits were not a factor in his decision to end the site:

The decision behind shutting down the site had NOTHING to do with Britney’s crotch shots…It’s simply time for me to move on…I still and will always RESPECT BRITNEY as a human being, we are just choosing to not go on with this site.

In the meantime, we watch Spears’ official site, BritneySpears.com, waiting for a response, most likely to be written in pink unicorn and rainbow hieroglyphics.
