The reason Edison Chen spoke in English rather than Chinese was because his a FOB at Chinese. The way Chinese people speak and the way he speaks is very different, especially the accent. Thus, if he spoke in Chinese, the Chinese community would not take him seriously because his accent may make him sound ironic, sarcastic, enthusiastic or insincere.

Come on. He want to go to Hollywood and boost his career so that’s why he ruined the careers of 10 girls, ruined his reputation, and risk his head being hunted by the triad? Is there any theory for motive worse than this? Unless Edison really is a retard, of course, then all bets are off.

If you look at some of the signs with Edison’s actions, it points to him trying to get a career in America. First of all, they mentioned that he will marry his gf when he hits 20 million USD. It will take him a very long time to do that in the HK industry. In America, he can make that in 1-3 movies. If he was sincere in his apologies to HK, why did he apologize in English? If he was sincere and wanted the Asian community to forgive him, he should have given all his speeches in chinese, especially when it was done in HK. It seems like he saw how American stars did it in America and hope that he can do the same. Pamela, Paris, Kardashian, and now Simmons. My 2 cents…

That’s a stupid move if he really did that himself just to boost up his image. Although HK is pretty modernized, however it’s still very conservative compared to U.S. and other western countries. Well, for sure he’ll be out of the showbiz for awhile. But I think he should try out the adult industry. I’m pretty sure he would do well there, since his thing is pretty big for an Asian guy. LOL…*wink wink*
