Edison Chen Returning to Hong Kong on Sunday
Edison Chen has been hiding out in America to avoid facing the firestorm brewing in Hong Kong, and all of Asia, over a naughty picture scandal that involves Edison and many female celebrities. It’s like the Vanessa Hudgens, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, scandals time ten. Here’s more:
Edison Chen will travel back to Hong Kong via Macau to avoid a media scrutiny at the Hong Kong airport, reported The Sun, a Hong Kong newspaper, citing rumours. The newspaper said that reporters, photographers and cameramen are gathering at Macau airport causing a nuisance to staff.
Sing Tao Daily, a Hong Kong newspaper, had rumoured that Edison left Hong Kong on January 31 in a car headed for Zhuhai, China, where he crossed the border to Macau to catch a private jet to the United States.
His return journey could be exactly the reverse.
Almost all Hong Kong daily newspapers are reporting that Edison will be back on Sunday. He is expected to hold a press conference after making a witness statement at Hong Kong police HQ about someone stealing naughty photos from his computer.
Some Hong Kong newspapers had reported that Edison had fled the city in shame, when he left Hong Kong after naughty photos, purportedly of him and female celebrities including Gillian Chung, Bobo Chan, and Cecilia Cheung, were allegedly stolen from his Apple PowerBook when it went in for repair, and started leaking onto the internet more than two weeks ago.
The star released a video message on 4 January to apologize for the fallout, but did not comment on whether or not the photos originated from him. Instead he said his lawyers advised him to withold comment for now.
Anthony Wong, Edison’s godfather, said a few days ago that Edison will return to Hong Kong soon to help the police catch the "crazy man" who is leaking the photos. He said that Edison did not run away and had, long before the scandal started, planned to return to Canada to visit family for Chinese New Year, and then to go to America to visit girlfriend Vincy Yeung who is reportedly in Boston.
Meanwhile, the first person arrested in connection with the photos, 29-year-old Chung Yik Tin, was freed today. The charges against him were dropped, following the Obscene Articles Tribunal’s reclassification of the photos from "obscene" to "indecent". He had been in custody since January 30.
None of the celebrities purported to appear in the photos have been accused by police of any wrongdoing.
Instead, the police investigation has focused on tracking down people who have leaked or spread the images for breaking obscenity laws. Nine people have been arrested so far. All have been freed or bailed.
A protest march took place in Hong Kong on Sunday to demonstrate against the police action. Police have been widely criticized, both in mainstream media and internet discussion boards, for what is perceived as the special treatment because this case involves celebrities, the invasion of privacy of internet users and the hunt for a scapegoat that has seen several arrests but no end to the constant leak of photos.
Despite the police crackdown, more photos were leaked onto the web on the weekend and yesterday.

Oh perllllllllllllllllllllease, how many guys are there in the world that do this sort of thing or worse every day , like god knows how many thousands, and NO ONE so much as bats an eyelash over it.
But now u say he should be sent to jail for it, I mean COME ON , GROW UP FOR ONCE, how would u like it if someone found photos of u scr**ing and stuck em online.

It’s just homemade s@x videos from what i seen in the pics.
Plus there is no wrong doing in there to accuss ED to go to court or be punish or go to jail.
Even if the girls is underage there is no wrong doing to take her nud!ty if she’s willing to LOL.
Only their image will go down and might lose their carrier.
I will be surprise if he got punish by the law while the ladies that willingly to get their nud!ty being recorded didn’t get any punishment.
Even the company cannot sue them from what i think cuz this is a private videos record.
The one who should be punish is the one who spread the pics from the videos(but i dun hate him cuz this is a good entertainment LOL and his smart).

Hey!! What do you mean Edison should go to jail? Why shouldn’t the girls go to jail? Look at their svandals!! Look at Gillian Chung!! Imagine there is another guy want to publish another sets of naughty pictures!! I think anon’s comment is right. I agree. Well, Edison’s is still my superstar!!
I really don’t see why any of the celebrities should be penalised for any of their actions. Honestly, what they did was for themselves, and on their own time, and they were not the ones that leaked the photos. It’s their own business that somebody chose to go into and sell, and as a result, breaking up many relationships and potentially ruining many lives. I don’t believe the public is reasonable at all in saying that the celebrities are getting special treatment. It’s like punishing people for having s@x in their own bedrooms if they were penalised for the pictures.
Edison you are a rascal, a very cute rascal.
HG please be merciful to us gay guys when you release more of the photos, many of us want to see Edison too.

I feel that in this case edison should be punished for walking away and avoiding to assisting the police in person . The stars and their company should be punished as well because they reported the crime in the beginning as “fake photo” or photoshopped . But in reality the photos were real the whole time .They reported a fake crime and should be legally reliable for their actions. if edison comes back he should resign himself from the entertainment industry .
I think Edison should go to Jail.
