im sorry pal.. let me tell you something.. WAR IS WRONG.. no matter what you say… it seems like you are always deffending republicans while you as a reporter need to be on both sides… you dont need to write down your opinions.. we all can get at the conclusions we want.

    ****HG says****

Unfortunately we don’t all live in your ideal world of unicorns and world peace. Those of us who live in the real world realize there are terrorists that have, and want to continue, to kill anyone who is not Muslim. Freedom comes at a price, and it’s not given to anyone freely. The price to have freedom is war, when we are dealing with those that don’t want people to have freedom. The U.S. fights for freedom, and that’s why out people are still free, but so many other countries have people who live under dictatorships and communist governments that kill anyone who speaks out against their leaders.

If you have never had to fight to be free, then you have no right to say war is wrong, nor do you have the right to criticize our military men and women who support our fight to remain free, and to help others to be free as well.

Blogs are about reporting, and at times delivering opinions. You have yours, and I have mine. Our ability to have freedom of speech is what past wars have given us both. Maybe you should take some time to thank a military man or woman for their service in preserving our freedom.

This shameless use of a soldier’s misfortune kinda reminds me of how the Republicans used Jessica Lynch and Pat Tilman.

Sure the Dems had Cindy Sheehan but the big difference is that Cindy told the truth. The replicans lied about both Lynch and Tilman to further their own political agenda.

i don’t even know where to begin. how ridiculous.
i WOULD like to tell that soldier that i am sorry he lost his leg for a very selfish war.
and i must ad that it is not our responsibility or even our right as a nation to go around making sure that every other nation has the same “opportunities” that we do.

    ‘He says we are winning,’

Sure he does…I bet you’re the type of fool that still runs around his back yard screaming “Yo! Joe!!”.

‘the people by and large love us and appreciate the schools we build, the electricity we supply, and the security we bring’

LoL, schools? Electricity? sorta like they used to have before you blew them to kingdom come. Iraqis today have barely any running water and constant interruptions to their power supply and constant bombing from BOTH sides….yeah, great job.

Jay - You don’t even know me, how the hell do you know you’ve travelled around the world more than me? Let me guess, you work on a cruise liner - right? And the use of ‘mate’, nice terminology. Yet another limey with nation envy. Bet you masturbate to the days of colonial rule. Saddam was not in compliance, but you know that. You’re either a moron who believes what the left feeds them, or you’re an outright liar. The Democrat leadership in this country was behind the invasion because Saddam’s non-compliance was without dispute. He was continuing his genocide on the Kurds in the north AND shooting at UN planes enforcing the no-fly-zone. And the WMD intel was not CIA or manipulated by Bush, it was BRITISH intel - another reason why the Dems were initially on board. And I love how you know - absolutely know - that Al-Qaida was not in Iraq. I have a friend who is a sniper in a Ranger unit. I trust what he says over any politico, MSM talking head, celebrity, or blogger. He says we are winning, the people by and large love us and appreciate the schools we build, the electricity we supply, and the security we bring - you know, the stuff the leftwing media chooses to overlook. He also says they have killed many Iranian nationals AND Al-Qaida operatives. Keep on with that world tour, bro.

    Kevin_Bradley,

Wake up, and quit believing in all these lies. Al Quaeda was never in Iraq. The intelligence report supporting this turned out to be false, may of which came from an Iraqi informant that was widely known throughout the intelligence community as providing false or misleading information. You may be right about Saddam not complying with UN sanctions, but that was only part of the reasons sold to us about invading them. The main point about invading Iraq was that Al Quaeda was operating in Iraq, and the airstrip that was supposedly used by them to train on hijacking a 747 was actually used by Iraqi special forces for their training. Bin Laden was NEVER in Iraq, before the invasion, Al Queada was NEVER in Iraq, Saddam NEVER had any WMD! It just makes me very angry about how many ignorant sheep are out here in America, just following and believing what you’re told and not being able to form independent thoughts!!!

Jay, Saddam was NOT complying to UN resolutions, he never once did for over 11 years. You might want to google a little bit more because you are obviously a young man. I however was around during that time. I remember it quite well.

Honestly most Americans were miffed that we didn’t take Saddam out during the first gulf war, that we didn’t finish the job. Even President Clinton voted for deposing Saddam Hussein. The ball was rolling long before Bush took office.

    Facts:

1.Saddam was NOT allowing UN weapons inspectors full access without delay throughout the country.
2.Saddam was a ruthless tyrant guilty of many attrocities against his own people that should have been taken out on that merit alone.
3.1991-2002 is a rediculous amount of time to be given to comply unconditionally to UN mandates without action not being taken.
    4. Clinton in his infinite wisdom had cut our military and intelligence agency budgets to the bone which led to 9/11. We simply didn’t have the field operatives or budget to avert the disaster. The ONLY real intelligence we had about Iraq having WMDs was provided by the UK. The same intelligence the President, Congress and the rest of the UN had access to.
5.Based on that evidence and Saddam’s dismal record of non-compliance we took action when the UN would not.
    6. The Iraqi people are better off today than they were 6 years ago.
    7. I don’t know where you get your facts but Al Quaeda WAS operating within Iraq. Saddam had given them access to one of his air strips to practice and train using a 747 that was placed there.
    8. You cannot even begin to justify leaving Saddam in power. Arguing that is like trying to say Hitler, given time would have settled down and stopped his agressive action. Saddam would have rebuilt his army and eventually became a bigger problem than he was in 1991. Appeasement doesn’t work, has never worked and never will work.
    9. If the war was about Oil i’d sure like to know why we areb’t getting any of it for free since ya know, we conquered Iraq to get it. More liberal craptastic propoganda.
