personally, it was under the form of satire. i personally don’t care about this situation. people use satire on a daily basis. it’s part of living. get over it. if she had a problem with it then she could’ve attacked him with a personal phone call and then this publicity stunt could have been avoided. that’s what real people do – you deal with it privately and save yourself the humiliation. there is a fine line between jokes, some jokes are offensive…but if they are then by all means you can make a rebuttal but what i don’t understand is, if it’s a personal matter to you then deal with it in a personal and professional manner. by reacting to this by stating public statements to the world is just immature because it invites other people to comment on your personal life, which is what nobody wants anyway from the get-go. he has a talk show, it’s the same as having a radio show. they aren’t actors, they aren’t singers, they aren’t celebrities. they are public personalities. PERSONALITIES… aka they are allowed to have their own opinion. i do believe he had bad taste with his jokes here, but i don’t think he should be publicly humiliated for them. if people would just understand that they were jokes, then there would not be a problem here. it’s absolutely stupid to expect someone to revoke their jokes. when jokes are said, its a 50/50 chance that they receive good outcome… if they do, hooray, if they don’t, who cares? whether or not someone laughs doesn’t mean anything cause these jokes wouldn’t even be remembered the following week. what difference does it make that he joked about the palin family rather than when he jokes about other celebrities? is it just because palin is a political figure?

I am sick of so-called liberal comedians who are mean-spirited and go for low-bar, lo-brow attacks. Family Guy is another example of where this season and last were all about attacking George Bush and conservatives. If comedy is always a one-sided jab (liberal or conservative), its an attack, not humor.
My personal thoughts when I heard Letterman insult the Palin and Rodriguiz familiesis; David Letterman should be FIRED! His actions are that of some one who is losing his self control. He is probably on the verge of Allzheimers Disease, He should be FIRED, no matter what he says now, he’s been acting rediclous for quite sometime. He loves embarassing his guests to make himself feel good. He really doesn’t make relavant statements.
