David Lee Roth Rejoins Van Halen

The rumors are true. Van Halen will reunite with original singer David Lee Roth for a summer tour of North America.
"I am very excited to get back to the core of what made Van Halen," guitarist Eddie Van Halen said in a statement posted Friday on the band’s Web site announcing a 40 city tour. No specific dates have been named.
It will be the first time that Roth performs live with the band since 1984, when he was replaced by Sammy Hagar. A brief reunion with Roth in 1996 resulted in two new songs but no tour.
Original bassist Michael Anthony will not be a part of the reunion. Late last year he was replaced by Eddie Van Halen’s 15-year-old son Wolfgang.
On March 12 Van Halen will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at a ceremony in New York.
I would have been excited about this back on the late 1980s, but now everyone is old, and Eddie has health problems. This may be a pathetic attempt at a come back.

I think that it will be exciting that David Lee Roth is rejoining Van Halen for this summer tour! David’s run with Halen brought memorable and catchy rock songs! But I wonder what’s going to happen in March when they appear at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? Will Sammy Hagar be there? I can just imagine some of the heat and turmoil backstage! Eddie Van Halen can be a control freak sometimes in how he wants the band to sound, but it’s his band. Lastly, I hope that Eddie’s son Wolfgang can handle the endless touring–that’s a lot on a 15-year old, but he wants to do music. It’s been mild and safe in the music scene lately, but the over the top excess that made the band famous is BACK! Bring it on!!!!!
pathetic attempt at a comeback? lol…they will make millions. do you know how long people have waited for this reunion?
You have to feel for Michael Anthony. For years, he put up with all the bullsh*t with Eddie and his brother and whoever was lead singer at the time. Arguably, he would always do the best show consistently as sometimes Eddie ‘wasn’t there’ mentally and Alex suffered with neck and back pain…and we won’t even get into the lead singer dramas.
Gotta sympathize with a guy who was there from the start, stayed through the hard ‘drama’ times (and tried to take the high road when possible), and then got replaced by the 15 yr old son of the lead guitarist. The one guy who hasn’t had big bouts of being an a** to the fans, and *he’s* the one who gets booted…go figure. This isn’t a reunion, this is a fast grab at some cash. I was fan from the heyday in the 1970s, but no more. Anthony, though, I will support…he’s more than earned his induction into the Hall. For the others, though, there’s only so much crap a fan is willing to put up with…too bad Eddie’s not learned that lesson apparently.
Karma’s a b*tch and I will suspect Eddie, Dave, (innocent) Wolfie and Alex are gonna get some coming their way soon.
