How much success they have post-Idol will depend entirely on the amount of promotion they get from their label. Record companies can be very spotty with promotion. Also they need to choose a good agency and get a good personal agent. They’ll have the stigma of being the winner and runnerup of American Idol for a while, and they both have the talent to get through that and prove themselves. Good luck to both of them.

Sorry to disagree with you Fdog, there is no way that David A. will be a bigger star than David C. America finally got it right this time, they are tired of the “ballad singer”, and want an original idol, who can take this title further, and develop into a real artist. Although I liked some of David A’s song, most of them sounded exactly alike, this is what America saw. I’m so proud for David C., he is truly an artist.

David Archuleta will still get a contract and sell more than cook. Being the winner doesn’t mean anything on american idol as past records have shown. Archie will get more hits and make more money in te long run.
