Most Americans have not a clue how hung up we are about sex or nudity. In Europe and Britian it is no big deal. Often there are nude scenes on London’s plays. There is no way Daniel could hsve played this part and kept his pants on.
To quote Dan: “It would have be rubbish.”
I have spoken to someone who has seen the play and they said it was fantastic. Dan’s range as an actor has now moved so far forward that his career is very bright after HP.
To only focus on the nudity is to deny yourself the experience and knowledge of other cultures who don’t have the same problem with sex as we Americans do.
And Dan is a legal adult in Britian at 17. There is laws forbiting anyone under 18 performing in a pornographic media. The authorities and the people of Britian do not see this play as porn.
Therefore by their society rules, it is ok, and in fact artistic.
