Cynthia Nixon Engaged to Marry Christine Marinoni
Cynthia Nixon announced she is engaged to marry Christine Marinoni. The lesbian couple have been together since 2003, but have not set a date yet. The couple are waiting to see if gay marriage will be legalized in New York.
Nixon has two children, Samantha (14) and Charles (7), with father Danny Mozes.

You’re so correct Mike. Because obviously goats have legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.
I do however agree that it should be called civil unions, with the full rights and benefits of a married cuople.
The thing about marriage is that for many cultures it’s deeply embeded as a way to establish property and inheritance rights; it has always been the means of establishing paternity, legitimacy, and the rights and responsibilities of parenthood; and because these goals involve bearing and raising children, it has always involved (at least one) man and woman.
Amanda, What if someone loves a goat? Should it be legal to marry a goat or do you think that a line should be drawn?
That line has already been drawn. What people do in their private lives is their own business but don’t make it the business of everyone by demanding that we change our definition of marriage.

I would agree to civil unions. Marriage is between a man and a women!!!!
Good for them! I’m very happy for them. I hope New York DOES legalize it soon..It’s not fair that only heteros get to marry the people we love…
