Clay Aiken Idol Musical Cancelled After One Night

Clay Aiken fans have another reason to cry, grumble, and complain. This time it isn’t in response to gay rumors. Shocking. The August 12 opening night of Idol: The Musical, based on the fan worship of former "American Idol" contestant Clay Aiken CLOSED on the same night it opened. Double shocking. Here’s the official statement:
The new musical, which began previews July 5, has closed. A press statement issued Aug. 13 reads, "Todd Ellis, the producer of Idol: The Musical, has chosen to close the show due to a lack of advance ticket sales, a lack of positive feedback from audience members and critics, and a lack of sustainable financial resources."
In other words, it sucked. Claymates will now have to turn to Harry Potter who isn’t gay either, he just likes to have a hard rod, he calls a magic wand, in his hand while sleeping.

First of all the show did not close after ‘just one night’. The show ran for almost 2 months in NYC and several weeks in Syracuse. The show stunk. (I saw it on the 8th-big waste of hubby and mine money) Clay and his fans had nothing to do with sinking the show. It was poorly executed and I am sure Clay was NOT thrilled with his name being associated with it especially after he and his entourage saw the show last month (and even met up with the cast afterwards). Clay does NOT lack any fans and is just as popular now as he was 4 years ago (as some publications are stupidly stating as the reason for the demise of ITM).
