Charice Pempengco Sings Better than Dreamgirls

Share

A 15-year-old Filipina named Charice Pempengco has proven me right once again. Filipinas sing better than black girls in my opinion. Charice performed a Dreamgirls song And I Am Telling You, which won Jennifer Hudson an Oscar, only Charice did it better. I’m certain Pedophiles who roam the Internet will agree, if not just for the fact this is a 14 year-old girl in a skirt. The most touching part is that Charice changed the words – from “You’re the best man I’ve ever known” to “You’re the best MOM I’ve ever known.” Mom must be so proud of her little Diva.

See the after performance interview with Charice, and more singing by clicking the link below. She’s amazing.

Another example of the voice of an Angel is 100% Filipina Lea Salonga. In the video below Lea auditions for Miss Saigon. You might also remember her in Aladdin (1992) singing the voice of Princess Jasmine. It’s true blacks are good singers, but for my musically trained ear, Filipinas have one of the most beautiful voices on the planet. Blacks commenting here should listen to music from around the world before commenting. There are many great voices besides black voices. Take some time to appreciate other cultures outside of your own. I’m not trying to say blacks don’t have good voices, but I am saying Charice has a better voice than Jennifer Hudson. For me it’s the voice as well as the approach to the song. Black girls sing from their soul, but Filipinas sing from their heart. That’s how I see it. Nothing against the talented black girls out there.

Lea’s wedding is below to her husband Robert Chien.

  1. Black Girls sing from the souls….and Filipinas from their hearts. That’s crap!! Black girls sing the style that is from their culture – Filipinas are mimics!! People think that “singing black” is the only way to prove you can sing. Everyone has their own style, but Filipinos. Whites sing their way, Latinos theirs and Black in their style. It is sad that you all dont try to offer the world a version of true Filipino style. That would be more impressive.

Be true to yourself in all that you do, dont look to steal other peoples identy to find your own. If you sing, dance or whatever do it for the love of it, not to see if you can out shine someone else. That is a sign of poor self-esteem (and maybe lack of cultural pride!!)

hey dawonder, you focking moron. read per verbatim my answer to your comment. this blog was talking about who sang it better and not about music influence and style. read and construe the topic first before spewing your dumb comment, idiot. have your brain damaged checked to be able to understand a simple question and also PLEASE clean your stinky ears with your qtips inorder to clearly listen to the beautiful voices of your own race. i am a record producer so i know what i am talking about and honestly, you’re one piece of sh*t who neither can sing and determine between a beautiful and a comme ce comme ca(french)voice. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME.

  3. dawonder says:

aLim, don’t call me a disgrace you dumb piece of sh!t, you don’t know me. Your a biased and over sensitive person. Read my comments carefully, I give great props and recognition to filipinos worldwide in regards to music and singing.

All I wanted to say was why the f#ck would someone say “filipinos are better singers than black folks” that comment is so ignorant. Filipinos of course have their own style, but are you trying to say black music or singing didn’t have any influence? You need to have your ears checked cause you don’t have that so called trained ear to me, want a qtip?

don’t underestimate filipino talents, dawonder and please don’t pretend to appreciate their talents b/c you don’t support them. when can you learn to accept that filipino singers have a unique voice that is pleasing to listen to. to tell you the truth, i know how to tell whether one can sing beautifully or not b/c i have PERFECT musically trained ears for that and i find the filipino singers can sing very beautifully if we talk about voice quality and versatility. black singers have their own style as well as filipino singers too but i prefer the latter b/c i find it more decent and worth copying. this is my personal opinion that may shame dawonder but i don’t care. you’re a disgrace to your own race.

Philippines produce great natural born singers out of asia, visit the country and you will find them singing for the love of it, or better yet visit a filipino home and you’ll sure to find a karaoke, song hits book, musical item, etc. What gives an edge to filipinos is the love for music. You’ll find them joining contests or you will find filipino singers/bands exported to different countries because of their profession in singing. Out of all asians, filipinos are the largest asian group to hit big in the mainstream music industry all over the world. Lots of famous names all over the world are of filipino descent.

I’m filipino but you saying filipinos/filipinas are better singers than blacks is a matter of opinion, I’m not putting down my fellow kababayans, but I would like to say blacks are the ones who influence the world of today when it comes to music. Heck, listen to the radio, you’ll find pop, r.n.b, hip hop, jazz, blues, any genre you can find. Sh!t even the germans are into hip hop. Listen to some famous singers in the philippines, they will imitate how a black person sings and moves. Where the heck did they get that style of singing anyways, last time I checked, whites or asian didn’t sing like that nor did they develop that style. Today lots of people will imitate a black person when it comes to singing. Props to those black people who influence music of today. To all filipino singers famous or not keep singing one day we will be recognized for what we have.

  6. and lest we forget…Arnel Pineda who will be the new lead singer of all time great American band..Journey

    Watch this

    Filipinos are passionate singers.

  8. Yes.Let’s not make comparisons. Let’s be glad we have Charice after pacquiao & Lea Salonga. Let peace ring among peoples of the world.

Black, white, yellow, red and all other races have their own talents. Let’s all be glad and appreciate each one. Merry Christmas!!!!!

One more comment… you want to be respected as being Filipino… than I suggest you be more careful with your words. This blog makes me feel embarrassed to be Filipino. But, Charice darling… keep up the good work.

People may not be equal in each others eyes, but at least in God’s eyes we are.

  10. Enkantadia says:

I’m a Filipina… and I’m just as proud of the many who have given us reasons to be proud of who we are. But, talent has no color or cultural background. If you want people to see you as you are… which is not what the color of your skin is… or where you’re from… then I suggest you not compare her to blacks, whites or other asians. It is not true Filipinas sing better than Blacks or Blacks than Filipinas. It’s an immature comment. Just be proud of them because they got talent.

Can anyone touch Patti LaBelle is the question?

You forgot the greatest filipina singer of them all..LANI MISALUCHA who has a show in vegas. YOUTUBE her whitney houston medley or i will always love you. she sang that better than whitney houston herself!

Click here to see Lani sing it like Whitney.

  13. alim says:

we are comparing 2 different performers singing the same big song and for me charice’s version is more alive and kicking, full of energy and fun to watch while jhudson’s is boring which is very irritating to my musically trained ears. please don’t get me wrong but it is my honest opinion.
    goodbye.

  14. oscar s. says:

Comparing blacks and filipinas? Sure, why not. But to say that one is better than the other is not appropriate, coz they all have different styles, likes and dislikes. They are all music geniuses, and they perform based on their personalities.

As far as Charise, she is truly talented and has demonstrated superb star performance compared to all the talents around the world. May she reach the “top” a few years from now.

    Congratulations and keep it up!

  15. This is not about who is better between black and filipinos. They have their own ways to perform. They have their different styles and all are exemplary. Charice is excellent at her age but let us not compare her to jhudson because in music there are different version and they’re both from different level. I’d appreciate really charice. Filipinos must be prooud of her..

  16. ghae says:

filipinos really got talent. they are one of a kind.

what a beautiful wedding ceremony. Although I don’t question robert chien’s sentiments… for god sake, get a grip. Its your wedding day.

  18. alim says:

people should read the article first before posting comments on this blog. this is what people like to do “COMPARE AND CONTRAST” and in the end it leads to spewing nasty and unpleasant words about other people. both were pictured as good performers only with different deliberation and version of the song. and if people think that jhudson sang it better, i don’t agree with it because i have seen their videos several times and charice’s version is better compared to hudson’s. i am not being prejudiced but it is the truth and nothing but the truth so HELP ME GOD.
    hihihi:)

I think you are automatically assuming that black people are close minded when it oome to soulful voices. You may say that you are not being racist but to make a general statement about what black people think or feel is racist. I am black and when i heard that girl sing i didn’t think oh she sounds good for a fillipina no she has an amazing talent. Her talent just like the talent of many black people and white people to for that matter it has nothing to do with her nationality.
Talented and gifted people are not born to just one race and to think so and say so is racist. I am offened by what you said. To just say in your opinion that they sound better is one thing but to pin point black people and say we should listen to music from around the world before commenting is arrogant. As a black person who has friends from many differnt cultures around the world and have an eclectic taste in music and i not close minded and i am not the only black person like this. I think that it is wrong to assume that only black people would not “understand” other music or be “open minded” this is close minded of you.

Please please take note of Billy Crawford and Vina Morales, they’re one of the cream of the crops.

while Vina Morales won the first ASEAN contest between Asian nations (IKON BATTLE)even if her song used wasn’t that good compared to her previous ones:
see her dance and perform live she will put Beyonce to shame. I can’t find one where she sang and performed Beyonce’s song and was better at it,
