Hilary Duff (22) is engaged to be married to NHL Edmonton Oilers forward Mike Comrie (29).

Publicist Nanci Ryder said in an e-mail distributed by the Oilers on Friday the couple "are very excited to share this happy news." Hilary and Mike got engaged last weekend while on vacation in Hawaii during Mike’s two week break from the Olympics.

Hilary and Mike have been dating for over two years.

Nicole Richie (28) and Joel Madden (30) have two children together, Harlow (2) and Sparrow (5 months), and they are finally engaged to be married. Madden tweeted on Twitter:

"Yep. i’m engaged. Very happy. Yeah we’ve been engaged for a while, so your all kind of late on that. But Thanks for the hooplah all the same."

Richie confirmed the engagement in an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman on Monday, but the show will air Friday. Letterman asked:

"You’re not married yet, is that correct?"

Nicole replied:

"We’re not married."

Letterman asked:

"Are you engaged? Are you planning to get married?"

Nicole responded:

"We actually recently are engaged, yes."

Letterman said:

"Oh, congratulations, that’s nice. A lot of people will have children and then they don’t want to rush right into the marriage, you know, they wait ’til the kids get out of college, then they get married."

Rumors of the couple getting engaged started back in 2007, and were probably accurate, it’s only now that Nicole is finally wearing the ring. The wedding date was not announced, because the couple is probably working out the contract for an exclusive with a gossip magazine.

Katie Price announced she will marry the guy she dumped Alex Reid on I’m a Celebrity, and who just won Celebrity Big Brother.

Price said:

"This year I will marry Alex and I’m going to have his kids."

The wedding is planned at the end of this year in Las Vegas for which Katie will collect a paycheck for the marriage from OK! magazine with whom the couple signed an exclusive agreement.

Reid said about being publicly dumped by Price, and their now impending marriage for publicity and cash:

"It’s been a fantastic start to the new year and it’s going to be even more fantastic now this is happening,’ he revealed. ’I actually asked Katie to marry me after my fight in September, so it’s something we’ve been discussing for some time."

"I hope the public learns something from this. Four weeks ago I was the bad guy getting booed, now they’re cheering me."

"They got it wrong about me and they’ve got in wrong about Katie."

There is one word to describe Reid’s state of mind, delusional. Despite all the evidence right in front of him Reid believes that he and Price are really in love. Reid is in love with an illusion. When reality hits this tough cage fighter will crumble.

Kristen Bell (29) and Dax Shepard (35) are officially engaged to be married, Bell’s publicist, Marcel Pariseau, confirmed Monday.

I’m so glad Dax moved on from Kate Hudson.

Tara Reid announced German internet entrepreneur Michael Axtmann asked her to marry him Monday night while they were at dinner at The Little Door restaurant in Los Angeles. Tara’s rep said:

"Michael surprised Tara with a beautiful round brilliant cut ring. Tara was so happy, and the other patrons clapped and yelled out, ’Congratulations.’"

We are happy for Tara that she’s found a nice guy, but Michael, you’re marrying an alcoholic that keeps relapsing, are you prepared to be a codependent husband? I hope the best for them both, even though I believe their marriage is doomed to fail.
