Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher are Engaged to be Married

Country singer Carrie Underwood (26), and Ottawa Senators centre Mike Fisher (29), got engaged to be married over the weekend her publicist said Monday, but no wedding date has been set.

Days before the CMA Awards in early November, Underwood did not know whether she would be spending the holidays with Fisher. Underwood said at the time:

"Christmas, I don’t know. We haven’t really thought that far ahead. We kind of take it one week at a time."

Despite keeping the relationship low-key, Underwood made her feelings for Fisher public when she said in the liner notes from her current album she released on November 3. Underwood wrote:

"Play On. Thank you (No.) 12 (referring to Fisher’s jersey number.) You are the most amazing addition to my life! You are such a wonderful person and have had such an amazing hand in the building of this album and in the growth of me as a person. I love you so much! You make my life better in every way!"

On Monday evening Underwood showed up to Fisher’s Ottawa Senators hockey game wearing her new engagement ring, which is said to be a 5 carat rare yellow diamond worth about $150,000.
