Last night Brad Garret, formerly from Everybody Loves Raymond, attacked a paparazzo and broke his camera. As usual the paparazzo was taking pictures a distance away, and after Garret said to stop taking pictures all the paparazzi kept on taking pictures anyway. The AP reports:

Los Angeles County sheriff’s Sgt. Kristin Aloma said the 48-year-old Garrett has not been arrested in the incident that occurred late Tuesday or early Wednesday. She did not provide further details.

In the video, the man immediately claims Garrett broke his camera, although it shows him holding it up like he is still filming. The men exchange words and Garrett appears to challenge the paparazzi to a fight, but no punches were thrown.

In the video Garret is clearly the agressor, and his attacked was unprovoked. The paparazzi who maintain their distance are following the law, and the celebrity needs to do the same. This way, everything stays civil.

This is a case of an ego that suddenly gets out-of-control when the camera bulbs start flashing. I’m still trying to figure out why anyone would want Garret’s picture in the first place. I guess it’s better than cleaning toilets, or getting a real job, as superstar Garret suggests.
