Bernie Madoff Sentenced to 150 Years in Prison

Bernie Madoff was just sentenced to 150 Years in prison for his $60 billion, or more, Ponzie scheme, which may now be renamed Madoff scheme. Madoff’s wife, Ruth Madoff, was also only allowed to keep $2 million of the $80 million she claimed was hers. Madoff’s wife, sons, and other relatives may also face prosecution.

Very little of the Madoff scheme money has been recovered. Over 1,400 investors over about 30 years have lost a lot of money, and some nearly everything.

Madoff is only expected to live about 13 years, but it could be less since he can only exercise about 1 hour or less per day. Many of Madoff’s victims would like to execute their own just, so Madoff got lucky with prison time.
