Bernie Mac Hospitalized for Pneumonia

Bernie Mac (50) was hospitalized in Chicago for pneumonia, according to his rep. who said:
"Mr. Mac is responding well to treatment and will be released soon. He asked that his privacy and that of his family is respected while he gets well."
The rep says the pneumonia is not related to Mac’s diagnosis of sarcoidosis, an autoimmune disease that causes inflammation in organs such as the lungs or lymph nodes.
Mac has been in remission from sarcoidosis since 2005, when he announced he had been suffering from the disease for the previous two decades.
