Anthony Weiner Lied About Weiner Twitter Pics
Anthony Weiner (46), Democrat Representative Congressman from New York, admitted today that he lied last week when he claimed someone hacked into his Twitter account and posted a picture of him taken in his underwear from the waist down. In fact, it was Weiner who took that picture, and many more without a shirt on to engage in relationships with as many as six women, that he admitted to, despite being married. Weiner said today in a press conference that he will not resign his seat in Congress, because he doesn’t believe he did anything illegal or unethical, even though he used a Congressional Twitter account to send illicit pictures and message to young women which is both a violation of Congressional ethics rules and a felony since it was an illegal use of Congressional resources. He added that his wife was not happy, but since he told her that he did not sleep with any of the women, or meet them in person, that she forgave him. However, Twitter messages from Weiner to some of the young women have been released proving he asked to meet some of those women in person, so it appears Weiner may have lied to his wife to save his marriage, just as he lied to the media to save his job in Congress.
Weiner’s wife, Huma Abedin, is a top aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton who lets her husband, former President Bill Clinton cheat publicly, so if Abedin is anything like Hillary, it won’t matter to her if Weiner did sleep with any of those women provided she gets to keep her own job.
In February of 2011 Republican Representative Chris Lee posted on Craigslist a picture (below) of himself without a shirt on to a woman he met online. Lee was married as well, and has a child. After that scandal hit the Internet he promptly resigned. Even though Weiner’s photos are much more explicit, and there are many more women, he refuses to resign.
Andrew Breitbart, who broke the story about Weiner on bigGovernment.com, was attacked by Weiner and CBS as making up the story, then was accused as being the hacker. Today Weiner apologized on camera to Breitbart. Although Breibart says he has more pictures of Weiner without clothes on, he is refusing to release those pictures, and those pictures are t5he reason Weiner had to admit he lied today. One woman claims she received over 200 s*xually explicit text messages from Weiner, and others make the same claims to which Weiner would not comment on today.
Gennette Cordova, a 21 year-old college student from Seattle, Washington, is the woman the now infamous picture was sent to, and today Weiner finally admitted she is in fact the woman he sent the picture. Meagan Broussard, a 26 year-old single mom, is also trying to get some publicity by making public some of her own photos, and making it publicly known that she was cheating, online at least, with Weiner.
Besides refusing to resign, Weiner plans to run for his Representative seat again, and says he leaves it up to the voter to decide if he should return to Congress, and it is up to his colleagues to decide if he violated an ethics rules. Weiner will not resign for the same reason he cheated on his wife, he is selfishness and not trustworthy. The losers are the women he cheated with, his wife, his colleagues, the people who voted for Weiner, and the democratic party. Bill Clinton set the bar on ethics, so Weiner gets a pass, for now.
I watched Weiner’s press conference today, and I was shocked at his blatant arrogance, lack of remorse, and overwhelming ego mania. Most people, who are making a statement to the press about lying and causing a big scandal that hurts innocent people, simply make their statement, answer only a handful of questions, and promptly get off the stage, but not Weiner. This man stood up there answering questions for what seemed like 20 or 30 minutes, never once complaining that the questions were the same over and over, and instead relishing his moment in the spotlight so much he tried to make it last as long as he could. Some men would feel ashamed in the same situation, but Weiner appears to feel rewarded after receiving all this attention.
A member of Congress is expected to act better than the average person ethically. Weiner has demonstrated his poor judgment by having affairs behind his wife’s back, sending out lewd pictures and messages to other women with Congressional accounts, and now refusing to take responsibility for his behavior by resigning his office. It is impossible to trust a person like Weiner who has such poor judgment, and a huge lack of self discipline. This man is not someone that can be relied upon to make good choices since he cannot control his own impulses, and Weiner is a self professed liar.
