Another Fight Breaks Out at Akon Concert
Akon was performing in Melbourne, Australia when a fight broke out between rival gangs in the audience. So what did Akon do? He jumped into the crowd to fight the people fighting, so he could stop the fight. Usually pouring gasoline on fire only makes the fire bigger.
Afterwards a total of nine people went to the hospital with injuries, and six other also reported being assaulted.
Akon’s promoter sugar coated Akon’s intervention saying:
"One of the things people should take note on is an artist didn’t have too much concern for his own safety to go down and try and make things better."
"The thing that I saw, and I was standing right next to him. He walked to a girl (involved in a fight) and walked to her and held her face and said, ‘You’re better than that’."
It took Akon 2 years to convince Australian authorities to let him perform again in their country, due to his long list of criminal convictions. Australia may be rethinking opening their door to Akon anytime in the future.
Wherever Akon goes, trouble always follows.

i am a big fan of akon and i really like him
dont listen to them keep strong darling im coming for you
wait for me pls
i know were you live
I’m not a big fan of Akon because of his ‘frog’voice, but I can imagine it really s*cks to risk losing millions of dollars because of a stupid fight. I would do exactly the same and try to intervene to calm down the situation.
I don’t see how it could be his fault that people drink and start a fight in the audience. In a crowd of thousands of people, it’s only logical there are a few agressive fight seekers present.

OK… firstly people need to stop talkin S**T!! there were no “rival gangs”… these were little – sexually frustrated, teenage boys with the egos of 10 men… from what i saw…cowards against cowards!! fighting over stupid little things like being bumped in the crowd – (its a concert, it happens – HELLOoo!!) this doesnt excuse them fighting but i cant stand it when people throw in there 2 cents worth and talk S**T these were not “gangs” and Akon didnt come down to “fight” he came down to calm the sittuation!! the “securiy” at the event was shocking!! (thats if u can even call it security!!) anyway so Akon comes down to calm everything… im sure his been there himself “young and stupid”… i think what he did was REAL!! the fights had nothing to do with him they had started when T pain was performing too!! over all i had a great night… this is not a reflection on Akon its a reflection on how poor the security was!!
Akon Melbourne loves you!! xx.
