Anna Nicole Smith Stays in Florida, Dannielynn Stays in the Bahamas, and Everyone Fights for Custody and Money

owners of the house in which Howard K. Stern is living are putting the property on the market for $10 million. Horizons, the Bahamian oceanfront estate in which Anna Nicole Smith lived, was purchased back in October by South Carolina real estate mogul G. Ben Thompson for $950,000.
An attorney’s letter written to Thompson and his son-in-law, S. Ford Shelley, states that they have "a good and marketable title to that property… " and there is, "a duly executed and stamped conveyance in your favour." Thompson and Shelly are currently interviewing brokerage firms worldwide, firms that are interested in winning the listing.
In short, it appears Thompson and Shelly have the legal right to sell the property, which may have skyrocketed in value because of the incredible publicity surrounding the Smith saga. Sources say Stern himself believes the property is worth $10 million.
A Florida appeals court issued a stay Monday in the dispute over Anna Nicole Smith’s body, ruling that her remains cannot be moved to the Bahamas until the court hears a challenge from the former Playmate’s estranged mother, Virgie Arthur.
Arthur had filed a motion with Judge Larry Seidlin, asking him to reconsider Friday’s ruling which paved the way for Anna to be buried on the Bahamas. He denied that request. Arthur also filed an appeal with the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals, which has now agreed to hear the challenge.
Larry Birkhead has met the infant he believes is his 5 month old daughter Dannielynn. The meeting took place this past weekend at Horizons in the Bahamas, the house in which Stern is currently living.
Bahamas Supreme Court Justice Stephen Isaacs dealt only with procedural matters in today’s closed-door session, and scheduled the next hearing for mid-March, said Wayne Munroe, an attorney for Smith’s estate in the Bahamas. Stern, who returned from Florida on Saturday, did not appear for the hearing. The judge has ordered him not to take the infant out of the island chain until a custody ruling has been made.
Estranged Anna’s mama Virgie Arthur also brought legal action in the Bahamas to wrestle guardianship of the girl from Stern. Arthur claims she could a provide a more stable home for the infant, who could inherit a fortune, but now is competing for custody with Birkhead as well. Virgie is a great mom, look how Anna Nicole turned out.
