This event is another sad story about a drunk, without any class, has taken the lives of 3 people. We read about this everyday and that is way too often. As for Claudia’s statements, 1st of all obviously you are in great need of an education in grammar and spelling. 2nd, yes, unfortunately this is about a high profile person of interest but that makes no difference… there are 3 deaths involving a drunk driver that had no place being in the driver’s seat. I don’t see how racism has anything to do with this story. I’m sure MADD doesn’t profile the drunk drivers that have taken their loved ones… a killer is a killer. Go back to school lady.

First of all, may all the deceased rest peacefully, and their families heal over time. In reference to Claudia’s comment, its been a very long time since I’ve heard or read anything that ignorant. I haven’t seen a racist comment in any of the blogs I’ve read on this subject, so I don’t know understand your preach there. Claudia, this Gallo kid didn’t get struck by lightning. THAT could happen to anyone. And people do make mistakes, I agree. But lets pinpoint where that line of defense abruptly ends: about the time he got in a vehicle. Bound by the regulations of his PROBATION for a PRIOR DUI, he was without a drivers license and drunk 3 times the legal limit. The charges deservedly should rise above both manslaughter and negligent homicide. And with his priors, Claudia, I can assure you Andrew Gallo has a better chance of getting pregnant than walking free another day of his life.

i, too am close to the wilhite family.i was at the angel game watching adenhart. what pride in knwoing the wondrous achievment of your child. having never been effective until now with the tragedy of a drunk driver, i WILL do something about this. those of you that knew he was driving with a suspended license are guilty. you, the passenger, you allowed him to drive. those who saw him drink, you allow him to drive. you are responsible for him also. you need to be hauled in for some punishment. own up to your responsibility to live in our world. the right to breathe our free air. racial? it isn’t racial, he was DRUNK. He has been drunk before. Maybe next time, he’ll hit you. no, not you, i want you to feel what i feel, let it be your child. now do you think it’s racial? take responsibility for you. or don’t breathe our air. about their money. isn’t it enough that i pay taxes to support your stupidity.
god knows you, as well as the drunk certainly didn’t utilize our education system to your benefit. take this time to thank god for the jon’s life and that he may heal. racial, i’m not white.

Gary, couldn’t agree more that she is a total idiot. Too bad that lives are lost because more serious punishment is not inflicted on those that drive drunk. I also heard somewhere that Gallo was an Illegal alien, but haven’t been able to verify it since CA doesn’t list status. If he was illegal, then people have lost their lives and it didn’t have to be that way if our politicians would enforce our laws. I hope this worthless POS spends the rest of his life behind bars and is never allowed to see freedom.

You know, there is going to be a lot of discussion about how this should be handled and I’m sure there will be a lot of jabber about right and wrong in this instance as well. I’m sure that the judicial system is going to be busy with proceedings and it’s even quite possible that someone will somehow tie it into a political debate. I just want you to know that as a relative of someone who was in that car the only thing I can say is that we need to move forward without pointing our fingers or starting a lynch mob. The best we can do is to keep in our prayers some positive thoughts for the surviving family members and for Jon Wilhite’s recovery and that somehow the families may find peace somewhere in this tragedy.

My daddy taught me that you can fix anything, but you can’t fix stupid. As long as the penalty for drinking and driving and vehicular manslaughter equates to slap on the hand for a murder, it will continue. More people a year die in drunk driving accidents then are killed by gun violence.

Somehow it is seen that as long as you had alcohol in your system, to kill someone while driving is not equivalent to killing someone while sober.

And the people who argue most against stronger penalties??? People who think it is OK to drink and drive.
Self policing at its finest? I think not.
