Alicia Sacramone Punches a Guy - Video

Alicia Sacramone punched some guy in the face and knocked him out, when she attended Brown University. Judging by Alicia’s extremely poor 2008 Olympics gymnastic performance that cost the U.S. team the gold medal, and caused her team to take home the silver medal instead, I’d say she makes a better boxer than a gymnast.

Am I being too hard on Alicia?

I don’t think one person can be solely responsible for anything.
We got a silver medal - that’s totally admirable.

Alicia had a bad day, no doubt about it, but she’s a phenominal gymnast.

    r u kidding me?
that is clearly alicia just paying around with a guy from he school it doesnt mean shes badly behaved he clearly knew she was gonna punch him
and the person who wrote this clearly has never done competitive gymnastics or they would not be saying this about her
she clearly knows it was not her best performance but she was probably not even suppose to compete beam she only did because chelsie memmel was hurt
so before u start saying stuff about her realize that u have never gone to the onlympics for gymnastics and u dont know what was happening in her head
in my opinion gymnastics is the hardest sport and u can do a routine thousand times and u could still fall the 1001 time
she is an amazing gymnast and under the circumstances she did extremely well
    so leave her alone!

Yeah, she fell on beam and on floor exercise. Beam can be excused cause she was replacing an injured teammate on beam that night. She was the best left after Chelsia got hurt. It was a bad day, but it’s tough when you dedicate your every spare minute to something for 4 years, for 3 minutes in the Olympics, and then fall.
And, according to the announcers at the event, it wouldn’t have made a difference in the medals if she hadn’t fallen. The Chinese team would have still won gold. There were just too many other mistakes by the American team. The falls were just the most obvious.

Alicia Sacramone is an extremely talented athlete. She is an elite gymnast. She has accomplished so much in her life, and now she is competing at the Olympic against world best. At that level, the pressure is so much greater than if you were to compete at a local competition. Just like you and I, we all had good days and we had bad days. She is only human and human do make mistake. No body is perfect. None of you can do what she can, if you did, you would be at the Olympic, so get off her back. I’m behind her 100% (Team USA) 100%

We trailed behind China by 2.375 points, and Alicia had 1.7 points in deductions. Even if she had stuck everything perfectly, we wouldn’t have gotten a gold. You should be ashamed of yourself, for throwing blame without knowing the truth.

seriously, lay off the blame on her. i’m not even a u.s. gymnastics supporter but i still think those girls did a great job that day. as people said above, even if she didn’t fall, the gold still would’ve gone to china.

why is it that people always need a scapegoat to blame?

Alicia Sacramone is one of the most amazing people on this planet. She’s a beautiful woman and a phenominal gymnast.

I am a dancer, gymnast, golfer, and tennis player. I have been to many meets and some meets I just didn’t have it that day. And others I nailed it to a T. Alicia as you heard was blaming herself profusely for everything she did. She took responsibility for what she did…however she isn’t the reason that USA lost the gold. The Chinese start values were higher on a lot of events causing team USA to have to work harder at redeeming elemntal and artistic points in order to achieve a higher score. Know the facts before you blame one person. Chellsie and Sam were supposed to compete but were unable to. Chellsie had a fractured ankle and Sam had a knee injury…both of which you don’t want to play around with.

Yes Alicia has punched two guys on two different occasions…but as you can clearly see they are done either on a dare or just as a strength test…the guys appeared to even egg her on…the guys obviously don’t know the strenght of an elite olympic gymnast…but still it was all in fun.

Alicia is an amazing person with great talents. I don’t go around bashing people and blaming them for a sport that you obviously don’t know anything about. There are politics galore when you have the home country to judge…also there are always drama and politics in general to worry about. Alicia worked her whole life for this moment and to quote Dominique Moceanu ” To come home with any color medal is an honor” just because it isn’t gold doesn’t mean we failed…we are a true success.

Please think before you speak…I take personal and professional offense to this kind of blog fodder. Also for you to do this and attack her like that is very immature.

    Thanks,
    Allison
