Al Sharpton was commenting on how Barack Obama deals with homosexuality, then Al turned to Anderson Cooper and said:

"I may have some very conservative personal feelings, but I feel you have the right to live your life differently. I may think that what you do Anderson is gonna put you in Hell, but I’m gonna defend your right to get there."

Anderson stay on the professional path responding:

"I appreciate all your concerns about my afterlife. I’m personally not all that concerned, but that’s a whole other discussion."

Al always has both feet in his mouth, which is why it’s so hard to hear his message.

what the H? Al, I’m ashamed FOR you. First, your intone that Anderson IS going to hell was very misguided, at best, and 2nd, I’ve heard you talk about rights for GLBT, but in this you clearly sound like you don’t care one BIT about us, just that you demand we have rights, in what sounds like, you saying it so you have rights.

    Stupid stupid Al…

I realize Al may have not had a clue that Anderson might be gay, and despite the other two people with him on this segment, trying to lead him away from “going there”, that he really didn’t mean to sound like he was talking about Anderson’s private life, just saying that anyone can march to hell if they want, and he just, stupidly, used Anderson as his reference point.

Al, like I said, has been a friend to the GLBT community, and he has a family member who is a part of that community, so I will just take him at his word, that he didn’t mean anything about Anderson whatsoever.
