Akon Apologizes for Molesting 15 Year-old Girl Onstage

R&B singer Akon finally responded to the media firestorm over his onstage molestation of a 15-year-old girl during a concert in Trinidad a few weeks ago:
"First, and most important to me, I want to sincerely apologize for the embarrassment and any pain I’ve caused to the young woman who joined me on-stage, her family and the Trinidad community for the events at my concert in Port of Spain on April 12th.
It was never my intention to embarrass or take advantage of my fans in any way, especially those under the age of 18. That is why we tried to make sure that the club did not admit anyone under 18 in the audience. Somehow, that standard was not met.
Again, I apologize to those concerned and to all my fans and I pledge to all that we will strive to make sure this type of incident does not happen again."
Hollywood Grind broke this story, and started the media firestorm with the video of the incident that has now been watched by millions of people. After Verizon fired Akon, and stopped sponsoring the Gwen Stefani tour that included Akon, he finally came forward to make a half-assed apology. He did not apologize to Gwen for screwing up her tour, or Verizon for publicly embarrassing them, or Universal Music that holds his recording contract. The part of his non-apology that concerns me is this:
"That is why we tried to make sure that the club did not admit anyone under 18 in the audience. Somehow, that standard was not met."
Every one of Akon’s shows include dry humping women from the audience, which is usually only allowed in strip clubs, and in most states there can be no physical touching. This means that if an underage girl does get in, and gets up on stage with Akon, this incident will happen again and already has, guaranteed. Akon, and police, should enforce a stage show that meets the community standards for decency the show is held in, and free from clothes-on sex acts that are not even allowed in strip clubs. Akon can do whatever he wants at home, but when he is performing in a city, especially in the United States, he must perform according to their decency standards, or face prosecution. Trinidad is still debating whether to press charges against Akon.
The point is, if Akon acted like a decent human being, and not like some animal in heat, this incident would never have happened. I don’t think his apology settles this issue, since it sounds like he is going to continue his indecent act. If Akon is African like most reports claim, the state department should simply block him from coming into the United States for violating our decency laws.
Better yet we should give him a sex change, then turn him loose in a prison, so he can see what it’s like to be treated like a sex object. After Akon has been passed around between several hundred inmates, then it would be time to say, "Okay, apology accepted."
On another note: An Australian TV personality has publicly apologized after showing up on the air and telling the audience he was so hung over that he felt like -wait for it- â€I had sex with a black man.†Don Imus, the gauntlet has been thrown down. You’re gonna have to up your game.

Your such a playa y did you have 2 go give your self a face a double d’s. if your hungry just eat fast food not ” eat out” on the poor girl. if you were so tempded for chocolate grab a hershy bar. look i respect you and all but dont do the worm on a 14 year old. ITS WRONG
i think that was wrong. I actually liked Akon i thought his music was good. i guessed he belived in the qoute. ” Save a horse, ride a cowboy”. wow there i didnt Know the girl could be a horse. she was only 14 and he rode her like a bronco. i thought it was wrong. P.S- Shes under age buddy ride a more expeirienced staallion.
He should have to meet certain standards in the USA but the concert was in Trindad and I am West Indian and see nothin wrong with the way that he was dancing because being from a west indian background thats how we learn, practice and enjoy to dance the bottom of the line is if she was the preachers daughter 1) WHAT WAS SHE DOIN AT AN AKON CONCERT AT A 18+ CLUB 2) WHY WAS SHE WEARING WHAT SHE WAS WEARING 3)WHY WAS SHE DANCING THE WAY SHE WAS BEFORE SHE GOT WITH AKON she need 2 b home reading the bible with her daddy! if it’s that big of a deal
i like akon..his songs are catchy..theres definantly two sides to the story..first of all the girl is under 18 at an over 18 concert…how did she get in?? the parents should be suing the place where the concert was held and Akon…also look at her clothes..theres pictures where she acts like shes liking whats going on..i seen a pic where she is on top of him…but Akon is a grown man and he really shouldnt be acting like that towards any woman..no matter her age..i had no idea that Akon was a polygamist!!! thats a shocker…
If a woman can be tricked into marriage by something as simple as dance moves, then maybe she deserves to be with a polygamist. Wake up.
OMG BRI!!!!! you are absolutely hilarious…but i dunneven think that would change Akon’s mentality.
~Tee~
I think Akon should be ass raped by a man in prison…Then maybe he would really feel remorseful for his actions…he’s a polygamist anyway…He was probably trying to make that girl his new wife…I’m sure those were the same dance moves that he used to trick those women into marrying him…
akon was wrong even if the girl was underage and at his concert which was for 18 yrs old and up,him just apologizing to his fans isn’t realistically enough
i agree with susan 2!!
SUSAN YOU AND TINA HIT THE NAIL RIGHT ON THE HEAD, NOEW THAT’S WHAT’S UP^^^
I agree with susan
FORGET WAT DAViD SAiD, AKON SHOULDNT NOT BE BEHiND BARS.
no ID no entry isnt that the policy most people work by. And how can this girls parents not of known that their underage child had gone to an over-eighteens concert, they are at fault for not supervising their childs actions.the only reason the parents are kicking up such a stink is because they want to cover the fact that they had no idea of their childs whereabouts, bad parenting or ignorance??
I agree Susan!
Are you kidding me? An underage girl sneaks into an 18 and over only club wearing what amounts to some red gauze, and everyone is shocked. “Um, yes, excuse me. Could I see some ID before I pull you on stage and treat you exactly how you’re dressed?” What Akon did is in no way condonable, but the girl gets no sympathy from me. The girl and her parents should be more ashamed than the artist.
He should be put behind bars, with the general population and told that he is a childmolester and then the forsed sex change idea.
