Adam Lambert Rolling Stone Cover and Interview

Adam Lambert officially announced to whoever reads Rolling Stone that he is in fact gay. Adam said:
"I don’t think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear I’m gay. I’ve been living in Los Angeles for eight years as a gay man. I’ve been at clubs drunk making out with somebody in the corner."
"I don’t want to be involved in the gay-rights movement. I’m trying to be a singer, not a civil rights leader."
"Clay Aiken’s gay, and I’m gay, and we couldn’t be more different. The only thing that is the same about everyone in the gay community is that we’re gay. Why can’t we talk about a human community?"
Adam sounds hypocritical. If Adam wants to be better known as a singer than for being a gay American Idol contenstant, than why announe his sexuality in a magazine? You don’t see heterosexuals having parades, or getting a cover on Rolling Stone, to declare they are heterosexual. Some people are more interested in being known for their talent, others are always jumping around yelling "Look at me, look at me!"

If he wanted to be famous for his sexuality don’t you think that perhaps he wouldn’t have hidden it in the first place?
He clearly wanted to be judged on his music and not his sexuality throughout American Idol and that is why he has waited until now to come out to the media, and why shouldn’t he?
Sukh,
Both Clay Aiken and Lambert wanted to hide their sexuality, because it was obvious, and they knew hiding it would get them more publicity. Just like Aiken, the publicity got them both to the number 2 spot, but their over the top singing style lost them the competition, but attracted work for them afterwards. Although Lambert wants to think he is original, he just followed Aiken’s successful approach.
