Adam Lambert gave a shocking performance last night at the American Music Awards, which was perfectly suited for a gay club, but not the AMAs. As a result the performance was edited before being broadcast to the west coast. Lambert responded with this statement:

"You know honestly, if I offended some people, it’s apples and oranges. I’m not an artist that does things for every single person. I believe in artistic freedom and expression, I believe in honoring the lyrics of a song, and those lyrics aren’t really for everybody either."

"There’s a big double standard, female pop artists have been doing things provocative like that for years, and the fact that I’m a male, and I’ll be edited and discriminated against could be a problem."

"People are scared and it’s really sad, I just wish people could open their minds up and enjoy things, it’s all for a laugh, it’s really not that big of a deal."

Lambert is right about the double standard, but how about specifically applying that to both gay and heterosexual men.

Lady Gaga, aka Stefani Germanotta, gave a good performance at the American Music Awards. We like it when Gaga combines talent with an entertaining show.

Eric Wood, number 70, broke his leg during a Buffalo Bills versus Jaguars game in Florida on November 22.

There are two bones in the lower leg, the tibia and fibula, both were broken. After surgery doctors say Wood will be up and walking in about 8 months, but his football career may be over.

Ouch! Hopefully Wood can get other work off the field as Joe Theismann did after his horrific femur break.

Taylor Swift (19) won the Artist of the Year Award at the American Music Awards (AMAs) beating out Michael Jackson. Taylor said in her acceptance speech:

"I just want to say, music has never been ultimately about competition, and to even be mentioned in a category with Michael Jackson, who we will miss and love forever, is an unimaginable honor."

"I just want to say, I’m sending my love to the Jackson family, and Janet, for reaching out to me the way that you have."

"It’s the fans. You have given me so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving, and I hope you guys have an awesome Thanksgiving."

"I miss and I love you. Thank you so much."

Taylor won five AMAs total tonight, including the most prestigious Artist of the Year award, after being nominated for six awards.

I’m starting to wonder if this will be the best year ever in Swift’s career. This would be a tough year for anyone to top. I hope this is only the start of a talented career for Taylor Swift.

Jennifer Lopez wasn’t the only performer who fell at the American Music Awards (AMAs), but she did have the best recovery, because she’s a pro.
